LINDA FERGUSON
Linda graduated in 1970. I introduced her to my brother Al who just joined her in heaven. Linda loved Jesus and knew him personally. She even told me before her death He spoke to her. She died of Breast Cancer in her thirties. At the time she had five children. Dawn and Jason were her own, and Sherri, Todd and Lisa were her Step kids. You would not know the difference how she treated them. They loved her dearly and she made a huge impact on their lives. She was an amazing woman and dear friend and sister in law. Her sister Julie passed away of Breast Cancer just out of high school before Linda’s passing. I do have a favor from anyone who remembers Linda at all.
Her daughter Dawn can hardly remember her and would love to know about her mom. She was only six when Linda passed away and would love to hear from anyone who knew her mom, anyone at all who could tell her anything about her mom. Dawn is so much like her mom. She has a wonderful sense of humor as her mom did.
I remember when Linda and I were in speech class and we would talk and laugh, and every time, I would get kicked out of class because Linda would have me in stitches. Out into the hall I would go and she would sit nice and sweet in her seat. She worked in the office and we skipped school since we never had, ever, and wanted to just once.
Well, we went to Taylor’s (Party Store) and bought those little Hot Dog Sausages and split them. There was an extra one left. I told her she could have it, and she told me I could have it. Well, she went back to the office to work and I stuck the sausage on the front of the desk for her while she was waiting on someone. She was so very embarrassed. She was like that, kind of shy in front of strangers. LOL! I thought it was so very funny, she did not.
She wanted grandkids, even before her kids were five she was talking about them. She now has 8 grand kids she has never met. I look at them and just think how she wanted them so, and how proud she would be of them. Her daughter has recently gotten to know Jesus and had a dream of her mom for the first time in her life. I think it was a true visit from heaven. Her son Jason and daughter Lisa work as Homeland Security officers. Her daughter Sheri has the kindest heart in the whole world. And her son and daughter in law Bertha and Todd Ferguson own Sorella Bakery on Five Mile and Merriman in Livonia. They have won the Knott three years in a row and are the bakery exclusively for the Whitney Restaurant in Detroit.
My brother loved her so much. She married a man with three children, something not too many women would do. I miss her daily. I think of her and her unselfish kindness . She would take my daughter on vacation with her to Niagara Falls. Who does this? She also threw my daughter her one and only birthday party. She was that kind of an aunt too, amazing. Her favorite song was Amazing Grace. She has a brother Chris and a sister Vicky whom I still stay in touch with on my Facebook if anyone is looking for them.
