My first memory of Sally Jo Taylor is from September, 1966 when Suzanne Talbot and I, fresh out of Our Lady or Loretto, transferred to Lolla Valley Junior High in 9th grade. Tom Sheehan asked me if I\'d like to go to a party at Sally Taylor\'s house. He told me that Sally was the most popular girl in 9th grade. He rode his bike over to pick me up. But I was surprised when I met Sally. She wasn\'t the beautiful bombshell I was expecting. She did have GREAT hair though; it could keep a flip like none other! Over the next few months when I got to know her, I saw that it was her personality that won everyone over. She was funny, vibrant and compassionate. She inspired me in so many ways. Not only did I first meet Sally that night, it was also my first boy/girl party, AND my first kiss. (If anyone knows Tom Sheehan, thank him for that first kiss!) And thank you, Sally, for being my friend. Her last words to me were PEACE OUT and she will always hold a very special place in my heart. Rest in peace Sally Jo.

Until our 40 year reunion cruise to the Bahama's in 2010 I hadn't seen or heard from Sally since graduation. It was great to see her again. If she had any clue that she was so sick she never once gave it away.  She just joined the rest of us in partying like it had only been a few days since we'd last seen each other, and a FANTASTIC time was had by all.   I was so hoping she would join us on the 2015 cruise to Alaska, but God had other plans for her (I know she'll be watching over us from Heaven) and called her home. Alas, she'll be with us in spirit and we will toast her and our memories of the good times we all had as kids in high school and (for a few) well beyond.
