KINGSLEY — Larry A. Hagen, age 63, of Kingsley, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Munson Hospice House with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 11, 1951 in Detroit, to Norman and Elizabeth (Brandt) Hagen.



Larry was a tool and dye maker, and he had his journeyman card to work on any tool and dye machine in the U.S.



In his spare time Larry enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He also enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle.




Larry is survived by his sons, Matthew Hagen, of Deland, Florida, Joshua Hagen, of Traverse City, and Nathaniel (Erin) Hagen, of Kingsley; stepson, Jerry (Pam) Bender, of Kingsley; three grandchildren, Aubree, Wyatt and Gracie; ex-wife, Linda Kowalski, of Kingsley; brothers, Mitch, Eric and Jeff Hagen; niece, Alicia; nephew, Jeffrey; and many cousins.



Larry was preceded in death by his parents.



Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. His remains will be placed with his mother.



Memorial contributions may be directed to the Veterans Administration of Grand Traverse County.



Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.




Larry was a very funny guy and very intelligent- I knew him at Pearson Jr. HS - when we went to RU in 1967, he was in my power mechanics class with The Retarded Welder, Mr. Foreman - one day Foreman got so angry when Larry was whispering to someone while Foreman talking and Foreman went over to Larry who was sitting in the old school, one piece desks and picked up the desk with Larry in it, and threw him out into the hallway, desk and everything included, which made a big uproar in our class - I never saw Larry after that but I never forgot the good guy that he was and according to his obit, he was a much loved and cherished human being, and I thought of him in the same way
